As a public benefit company, we have an expanded purpose beyond maximizing profits. We are required to consider the mission impact of every decision we make and balance our goal of earning profits with our purpose of strengthening communities and restoring the environment.

We believe in a more just form of capitalism and seek to revitalize rural communities by empowering individuals to work together to gain more control over their financial security, health and wellness. We support farmers and the communities in which we work through profit sharing and through a generous charitable giving program. We collaborate with our farmers every step of the way, from providing them with subsidized seeds to guaranteeing the purchase of their crop, while promoting regenerative farming practices. We nurture the soil, our farming families and their communities—not just for this year’s crop but for future generations.
